Since I have asked soooo many questions over the last few months, I thought it only appropriate to let you know that I have actually started on my first couple of guitars!
I'm being rather inspecific with the number because I am actually starting on the neck(s) and depending on how many turn out, will depend on the number that I make. I fully realize that I should probably make only 1 for a first effort but I have never been the type to "go with the flow". Ideally, I will make two for my first effort for two reasons; first, I will be making classicals and I always been morbidly curious about the differences, as they age, of spruce vs. cedar tops. For better or for worse, this will give me the opportunity to make ideentical guitars EXCEPT for the tops. Second, I will be making a Torrez design as that is what I currently play and I want to make the spruce to compare and the cedar to contrast. Does that make sense?
At this time I also want to thank everyone who has given freely of their wisdom, random thoughts etc. Although I may not take every piece of advice given, it does not mean that I didn't appreciate it, if only to give me pause to think.
Last, tomorrow I am going to opening day for the Toledo Mudhens! Yes, Jamie Farr is really from Toledo and the Mudhens really exist. I mention it only because, although I am 50, I have never been to an opening day and even though I wrote out the largest check EVER
to my uncle about 30 minutes ago, I am trying to be upbeat!
